THREE PEAKS 24-HOUR CHALLENGE 2008

Speares extreme members John Taylor, Paul Bartlett, Richard Ludlow & Alex Julien are to take on the Three Peaks 24-hour challenge to raise money for the ‘Speares extreme Hand Crank Appeal’.

The challenge is to climb all three of the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. The mountains involved are Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. Their route involves nearly 12,000 feet of punishing ascent, approximately 18 miles by foot and 500 miles of driving, plus of course, the drive to the start and home from the finish, making a roundtrip of over 1,000 miles.

The 3 Peaks 24-hour challenge is one of a number of events planned over 2008 in order to raise money for the 'Speares Hand Crank Appeal' –click on the link to learn more about this worthwhile cause.
